Sunday Salon

Sunday SalonIt’s been a pretty good reading week—the new Malcolm Gladwell and a gorgeous book on the history of color. A hectic week too, though, and what with Thanksgiving and time off work this one will only be more so—how does having time off work make me feel so much busier? Hopefully in between my end-of-the-year rush and helping with Thanksgiving cooking I’ll have time for some reading.

The other day when I was out and had to borrow a book from the CP I started reading Richard Hughes’s A High Wind in Jamaica and was pretty charmed by the first chapter or so, and I think I’ll probably continue with that. And I’m thinking that for December I want to do something quasi-themed, mysteries and ghost stories to keep cozy during the darkest month of the year. Right now I’m thinking The Turn of the Screw, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and The Moonstone lie ahead. If anyone has any other ideas along similar lines, do tell.
